Easy dough for Choux Pastry (puff pastry)! You can fill them with sweet or savory filling!
Ingredients
1 cup of water
¼ tsp salt
125 gr. Butter
1 cup of flour
4 large eggs
Directions
Put the water, salt and butter in a saucepan
Once the butter has melted and the water is very hot
Add all the flour and mix quickly with a wooden spoon
Remove the saucepan from the heat and continue to mix so that the dough cools down
You can continue with the wooden spoon or with the mixer using the hook
Add one egg at a time stirring quickly so that it is well combined into the dough before adding the next one
It’s ready when it’s soft and not too sticky
Using a cornet or a meat bag, put the dough in the bag and cut a small opening at the bottom corner with scissors
Preheat the oven well to 220 degrees
Put a baking sheet on a pan
Add the dough in the size of a walnut or bigger if you want
Bake the choux at 220 degrees for 20 minutes
Lower the temperature to 180 degrees and bake for another 20 minutes
Turn off the oven and open the door a little to let it cool down
Leave them inside until they cool and dry
** To see if they are ready, cut one approximately in half, it should be empty and dry, otherwise bake them for a little longer
** While the Choux are baking, do not open the oven at all because they will not rise
** You can store them in the freezer for later use
** Fill with tuna recipe or cream recipe or something to your liking
