Fluffy and delicious traditional Easter cookies with ammonia!
Ingredients
8 eggs
250 gr. unsalted butter
2 cups of sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 pkg. ammonia 30grs.
½ cup warm milk
All purpose Flour
2 yolks with 1 tbsp of water for brushing on top
Directions
Put the eggs, sugar, butter and baking powder in a large bowl
Mix very well
Pour the ammonia into the cup with warm milk and stir and pour it into the bowl (careful it will bubble, stir over the bowl)
Beat the ingredients well until they are well combined
Now add the flour little by little and knead by hand until it does not stick to your hands
Shape it into whatever shape you want
Place on baking paper (without if you prefer)
Mix the egg yolks and the water in a small bowl
Brush a little egg wash on top of each cookie
Bake at 180 degrees on the middle rack for about 10-15 minutes until they are a golden colour
** Tradition the first cookie we make is round in shape and inside there is a cross that is for Christ (opional)
