In most Greek homes we eat salted cod and garlic spread! A traditional and delicious meal!<\/h4>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<p>Salted cod<\/p>\n<p>flour<\/p>\n<h4>Directions<\/h4>\n<p>This process is done in the morning. The day before you cook the cod<\/p>\n<p>Wash the cod to remove the salt<\/p>\n<p>Cut the fins and the tail<\/p>\n<p>Scrape with the knife or with the special tool to remove the scales<\/p>\n<p>Cut the large bone in the middle of the cod straight down and then into medium pieces<\/p>\n<p>Put the pieces in a large bowl and cover them\u00a0 with lots of water<\/p>\n<p>Every 3-4 hours empty the cod into the sink, rinse it and cover it with clean water again<\/p>\n<p>Leave it overnight in the water<\/p>\n<p>In the morning change the water again with the same process<\/p>\n<p>2 hours before frying, put the cod in a colander(strainer) to drain the water<\/p>\n<p>Flour it well and fry it on medium heat until it gets a nice golden color<\/p>\n<p>Served with garlic spread (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aroundofsalt.com\/?p=1000&amp;lang=en\">see recipe<\/a><\/span>) or french fries<\/p>\n<p><b>** <\/b>At the point before you flour the cod,\u00a0 you can put it in the freezer ready for future use<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March 25th has arrived!
