March 25th has arrived! In most Greek homes we eat salted cod and garlic spread! A traditional and delicious meal!<\/h4>\n

<\/p>\n

Ingredients<\/h4>\n

Salted cod<\/p>\n

flour<\/p>\n

Directions<\/h4>\n

This process is done in the morning. The day before you cook the cod<\/p>\n

Wash the cod to remove the salt<\/p>\n

Cut the fins and the tail<\/p>\n

Scrape with the knife or with the special tool to remove the scales<\/p>\n

Cut the large bone in the middle of the cod straight down and then into medium pieces<\/p>\n

Put the pieces in a large bowl and cover them\u00a0 with lots of water<\/p>\n

Every 3-4 hours empty the cod into the sink, rinse it and cover it with clean water again<\/p>\n

Leave it overnight in the water<\/p>\n

In the morning change the water again with the same process<\/p>\n

2 hours before frying, put the cod in a colander(strainer) to drain the water<\/p>\n

Flour it well and fry it on medium heat until it gets a nice golden color<\/p>\n

Served with garlic spread (see recipe<\/a><\/span>) or french fries<\/p>\n
