Delicious Danish tarts with puff pastry! You may also make them Vegan! Perfect for breakfast or dessert!
Ingredients
1 packet of puff pastry (2 sheets)
200 g of cream cheese (may use vegan cream cheese)
4 tbsp full of icing sugar
1 capsle vanilla powder (0.30gr)
Cherry jam
Directions
Defrost the puff pastry according to the instructions on the package
In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with the icing sugar and vanilla and place it in the refrigerator
Put some flour on a surface and spread one sheet of puff pastry
Cut the hearts with a cookie cutter or any shape that you prefer
In a baking pan, spread a piece of parchment paper and place the cut pastries
Pierce the center of the shape with a fork several times (a little before the edges) so that it does not puff at the point of filling. On the contrary, we do not pierce the edges so that they puff
Put 1 tsp of filling in the middle and a little more if your shape is large (not near the edges)
On top of the cream, put 1 tsp of jam
With a brush or your finger, slightly wet the edges all around the puff pastry
Repeat the same process with the second sheet of puff pastry
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 12-15 minutes until golden brown
** You can cut them into 9 equal parts if you don’t prefer shapes
** After they have cooled, powdered sugar can be added
** You may use whatever jam you prefer
