A traditional recipe that is usually made for Christmas, but they are perfect any time of the year. You can also make them round which will make them look like snowballs.
Ingredients
40-45 pieces
200 gr. margarine
200 g of olive oil
¾ cup sugar
1 vanilla powder (0,3g)
1 ½ tsp baking powder
4 ½ cups flour
1 cup almonds
Powdered sugar (icing sugar)
Directions
Blanch and roast the almonds until they take on a little color and once they have cooled down a bit, cut them into small pieces with a knife or in a food processor, but do not turn them into powder
Put the butter, oil and sugar in a large bowl and beat them for about 2-3 minutes with the wisk or the mixer
add the vanilla and the bacon powder
Then slowly add the flour to make a soft dough that does not stick to the hands (if needed, add a little more)
At the end, add the almonds and knead a little so that they go everywhere
Shape into round snowballs and press a little in the middle to bake better or you can spread the dough and use cookie cutters
Place on the baking sheet and bake at 180 degrees for 12-15 minutes until they get a golden color
When they are ready, place on a plate and sift powdered sugar over the cookies
** if you don’t want the almonds you can leave them out they turn out just as nice
