A dish that is easy to make and is a childhood favourite!
Ingredients
Servings 4-5
400 -500grs beef minced meat
1 onion
2 tbs of tomato paste
½ tsp sugar
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
Olive oil
1 pack of spaghetti (#6 or 10)
2 tbs. sunflower oil
Kefalotyri (or parmesan)
Directions
Add oil to cover the bottom of a medium saucepan.
Clean and wash the onion and grate it (cutter or grater)
. Add it to the pot and stir so it doesn’t stick.
Light the stove to medium heat.
Once it is a translucent color, add the minced meat.
Press lightly with a spoon and stir so it doesn’t have any chunks. If it starts sticking on the bottom of the pot put some water to make it easier.
When all the minced meat has turned white and there are no large chunks left, add water halfway through the pot.
Add the cinnamon, salt, pepper and tomato juice and sugar.
When its left only with the sauce, remove it from the stove. And set aside
In a bigger pot
Add plenty of water and salt.
Once the water boils (it makes big bubbles) add the spaghetti. I cut them in half.
Boil them as the package says. If you prefer them a little harder (al dente) take them out a minute earlier.
Strain them and pour some cold water.
In the same saucepan put the vegetable oil. Pour in the strained spaghetti and stir so the oil covers all the spaghetti.
Serve spaghetti, minced meat and plenty of kefalotyri (optional) or parmesan.
