DOUBLE BAKED BISCUITS

Crispy double baked biscuits! Perfect for dipping in coffee!

Ingredients

1 cup orange juice

1 cup of oil

1 cup of sugar

1 cup grated walnuts

½ tsp.  Baking powder

1 tsp.  Soda

¼ ktg.  Salt

1 vanilla

½ tsp.  Cinnamon

Orange zest

5-6 cups of flour

Directions

Put the oil and sugar in a large bowl and mix them with a whisk or a mixer until the sugar melts a little

Pour the soda into the orange juice and stir it over the bowl because it will bubble up

Pour this into the bowl and continue mixing

Put the rest of the ingredients in the bowl and finally the flour little by little

Make a soft dough that does not stick to our hands

We make four sticks long (not too thick) that fit in our pan

We cut them straight or diagonally almost all the way down

Bake them in a preheated oven at 220 degrees for 20 minutes

We take them out and leave them for 5 minutes to be able to cut them so they don’t burn

We cut them exactly where we had scored them and place them flat in two pans (it doesn’t fit in one)

Bake one pan at 200 degrees for 10 minutes until they get a dark color

Let them cool well before storing them so they stay crisp

** instead of walnuts you can put anything else you want – almonds, raisins, cranberries…
